Revolutionary Formula
Conventional waterproof mascaras use high levels of vaporizing materials to make them waterproof. While these materials provide all-terrain wear, they have a number of downsides, such as lashes that can look spiky or spindly once the volatiles have vaporized. Others include smudging, as most waterproof mascaras are not oil-proof, and lashes that look and feel brittle. Now, thanks to an ingenious complex of materials that represent a revolution in waterproof mascara technology, Estée Lauder’s new Sumptuous Bold Volume™ Waterproof Mascara makes it possible to keep lashes looking full, thick, curled, soft and effectively waterproofed – all at the same time!

The formula’s exclusive Micro “Y” Lock Fibers and Fumed Silica are combined with other lightweight, yet volumizing materials, such as natural mica and kaolin clay, and suspended in a bi-phase gelling mechanism to deliver amazing volume and lift without adding weight to lashes. Even sparse lashes are lifted and plumped into big, lush lashes that are all lightness and flirtatious curl. Plus, a specially treated black pigment exaggerates the color on lashes, making them appear even bolder.

Another benefit is the formula’s unique, colorless, water-proof, oil-proof and smudge-proof shield. This unique shield “seals” lashes like a top coat, helping to prevent oil from the skin from penetrating the film, which can cause smudging and flaking, and delivers maximum waterproof – from salt water, chlorine water and rain water to humidity, sweat and tears!

Also, thanks to a special adhesion polymer, which was purposefully chosen for its molecular weight to bind the mascara to lashes, now you can get the perfect application every time. Conventional mascaras can either dry down too quickly, which leads to uneven application and dry feeling lashes, or dry down too slowly, which can cause the lashes to stick together because they stay wet too long. This adhesion polymer attaches itself to the lashes to “build” lashes from your first stroke to your last in dramatic proportions.

Finally, the formula’s two-way soft-flex polymer is a breathable film which keeps lashes plump without brittleness. This polymer does not shrink, so lashes remain soft and flexible, even after they have dried. With a carefully calibrated blend of two different bristle fibers, the BrushComber™ amply coats lashes while separating them.
