Bloom – Belle de Jour

New York-based, internationally renowned makeup artist April Greaves has teamed up with Bloom
Cosmetics to develop the brand’s SS11 colour collection – Belle de Jour.

Literally translating as ‘beauty of the day’, Belle de Jour draws inspiration from Yves Saint Laurent’s long-time muse Catherine Deneuve in Luis Bunuel’s cult 1966 French film of the same title. About the Honey

The team at The Body Shop searched carefully to find honey and beeswax hives and suppliers that met the objectives of the unique Community Fair Trade programme.
The Community Fair Trade honey used in Honey Bronze is supplied by Bezamar, an Ethiopian company that work with beekeepers from the Bale mountains in the south of Oromia state in Ethiopia.
The beekeepers employ traditional methods, using hives handcrafted from locally grown bamboo. This promotes strong, healthy bees, plus it deters logging in the forest. The raw comb is harvested, then tested for quality before the honey is separated and filtered. In addition to ensuring a fair price for this ingredient, The Body Shop pays an additional fund to the Oromia State Forest Department, supporting their excellent work pioneering community forest management.
The Community Fair Trade beeswax used in Honey Bronze products comes from the remote Adamaoua region of Cameroon through an organisation called ‘Guide for Hope’. The beeswax is harvested naturally from hives made of local, sustainable materials. The hives only last six months so that the bees living in them stay healthy and free of disease.

All About Berry: hints for day and night statement looks
Natio Berry Beautiful combines top-selling shades with brand new natural hues of soft and deep berries. The expertly matched palettes make it easy to translate the catwalk trend into wearable looks for day and night whether you want to think big or start small. The key to making the look your own is to mix and match: “Trends should inspire, not dictate your look. With Natio Berry Beautiful you can add just an accent of berry with cherry red nails or subtle plum lips. Or go all in with a statement look of deep berry evening glamour”, says Natio make-up artist, Linda Riddell.

As part of the collection, Natio is launching its first ever all-in-one palettes with three mineral eyeshadows, mineral blusher and bronzer, and three mineral lip glosses. Berry Tutorial: get the look
With Berry Beautiful, Natio has designed the perfect palette to enable women to have fun and experiment with berry and plum colours. For inspiration, Linda Riddell shares her professional tips to mastering the casual and glamorous berry looks: “Natio’s Berry Beautiful collection encourages creativity; you can play around with carefully selected colours and textures to find the best combination for your personal style. My only rule of thumb is to balance your look by combining dramatic eyes with more neutral lips and vice versa.”

Create the romantically fresh Soft Berry look
This pastel day look is a great introduction to the colourful world of berry.
Key product: Natio Mineral Colour Palette in Soft Berry.

1.    Apply your favourite Natio foundation or tinted moisturiser for a flawless complexion.
2.    Create a soft glow by lightly applying bronzer from cheeks to temples with circular motions.
3.    Apply Blusher to the apples of the cheeks.
4.    Dust the light eyeshadow (creamy taupe) over lid and brow bone area to highlight and enhance.
5.    Define eyes by covering eyelid with the medium eyeshadow (soft pink).
6.    Colour the outer corners and close to the lower lashes with the dark shade (mocha) for contrast.
7.    For a soft, romantic look, gently smudge and blend the eyeshadow colours using a clean brush.
8.    Finish off with Super Long Lash Mascara, applying a couple of extra coats to the outer corners of the eye lashes to open the eyes.
9.    Choose your favourite lip gloss (soft honey peach, light pink, or sheer honey bronze).
10.    Complete the look with Berry You Nail Colour.
11.    TIP: Going out for lunch? Replace your lip gloss with Baby Berry Lip Colour.

Create the dramatically glamorous Deep Berry look
This look is all about making a statement with bold deep berry lips and liquid lined eyes.
Key products: Velvet Berry Lip Colour and Midnight Berry Liquid Eye Liner plus Mineral Colour Palette in Deep Berry for base.

1.    Apply your favourite Natio foundation or tinted moisturiser for a flawless complexion.
2.    For a golden look, generously blend bronzer from cheeks to temples with circular motions.
3.    Apply blusher to the apples of the cheeks.
4.    Highlight eyes by sweeping the light eyeshadow (beige gold) over the eyelid and brow bone area.
5.    Holding the eyelid taut and using quick short strokes, apply Liquid Eye Liner as close to the top lashes as possible to accentuate eyes.
6.    Finish off with Super Long Lash Mascara.
7.    Smooth on Velvet Berry Lip Colour.
8.    Complete the look with Very Berry Nail Colour.
9.    TIP: Special occasion? Create an elegant ‘cat eye’ by extending the Liquid Eye Liner into a slight curve at the outer corner of the eye. Imagine that the direction of the curve extends from the lower lash line up towards the end of the brow – with the actual curve being only ½ to 1 cm.
10.    TIP: Intensify the Lip Colour by mixing in your combination of lip gloss shades from the palette.

FEMME FATALE
The return of ‘Smoky-Eyes’ is even more dramatic than before – eyes are bold and intense, dramatically lined with deep shades of coal off-set by soft natural lips and a light radiant complexion – the perfect contrast….

GET THE LOOK
FACE: Flawless and refined with a hint of glamorous sheen
Conceal: Apply Mineral Illuminator Light over imperfections and dark under eye circles using the warmth of your fingers to press and blend into the skin.
Base: Apply a small amount of Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation – Tender Beige to face and neck blending well to ensure a truly flawless finish.
Balance and Highlight: Using a blush brush apply NEW Mineral Gemstone Finishing Powder – Corrector to the high points of the cheeks and any other areas you wish to highlight.
EYES: The Smokey look is still ‘now’ but it’s more dramatic than before.
Wet the entire eye line with a damp brush and apply Mineral Matte Shadow in Teak for intense colour, follow with an additional soft layer below the lower lash line and then apply Mineral Shadow in Opal to the inner corner of the eyes.
Next line the top and bottom lash line with Powderliner Pencil in Coal making the line thicker towards the outer edge. Using the sponge tip end of the pencil softly blend the thicker eye liner up to the outer third of the eye lid (this step can be repeated to add more depth to the outer eye – the powder liner pencil blends effortlessly with mineral eye shadows) . Follow by blending the lower lash line from the outer edge inwards. Line the inner rim of the lower lash line to intensify the effect.
Complete the eyes with 2 coats of Lush Mascara in Black.
LIPS: Soft and Natural
Apply Pro Lip Primer (the secret weapon for every beauty bag) to the lips to enhance lipstick wear, prevent colour bleeding and to make lips appear full and sensuous. Follow with Micro-Bubble Lipstick in Shell for neutral lips that complete a perfectly balanced look.

BOHEMIAN CHIC
The classic makes a comeback.
Nude lashes allows for freedom to experiment with eye shadows creating definition. Couple with bold, beautiful lips and well primed skin and you have the perfect partnership….

GET THE LOOK
FACE: Matte Skin, Luminous Finish
Base: For those not born with a fresh-faced glow, this look is all about the prep work. Prime skin with Retexturizing Face Primer SPF 20, and then apply Mineral Foundation Powder SPF 8 for a gorgeous matte finish.
Balance and Highlight: Soft highlights of colour are achieved with a large brush and light dusting of New Colour Tides Mineral Powder in Peaches n Cream.
EYES: All about the shadow
Introducing the NEW Eyeshadow Quad in Nakeds – four shades in one compact used in layered transition to achieve the ultimate neutral eyes.
Begin by applying a wash of the cream quarter shade over the entire lid up towards the brow. Next apply the pale pink quarter shade to the eye lid and outer 2/3rds of the eye above the crease, the copper quarter is applied next to the lid and outer 1/3rd above the crease. To complete the eyes the light brown quarter is used with a damp short angle brush along the top and bottom lash line.
LIPS: Bold and beautiful
The confident classic is reborn. Outline lips with Automatic Long-lasting Lipliner in Earth Red and work the moist-matte look by applying Micro-Bubble Lipstick in Bronze.
