Australia’s top runway and editorial hair stylist, Kevin Murphy, will shortly launch PROTECTION.LINE -
a new and innovative six-product hair care line set to revolutionise hair protection by restoring and
protecting hair against extreme heat.

The new line consists of shampoo, leave-ins and styling aids, all of which feature the unique Kevin
Murphy Extreme Heat Protection Complex™. The scientific formula combines a blend of native
ingredients that have proven benefits in treating burns; Kakadu Plum, Desert Lime and Wattle Seed
extracts help transform dull and damaged hair into glossy and glamorous locks.

Having witnessed firsthand the damaging effect heated styling appliances can have on the hair,
Murphy identified a need for a product that could protect the hair from extreme heat.
“As a stylist, you have to apply a lot of heat to the hair to create the style effectively. This left me
feeling bad that I was unable to perform my duties as a hair stylist without killing off my client’s
hair,” explains Murphy. “I realised that the current heat protection products on the market could
only offer protection against heat damage up to 180°Celcius and there is a need for a product
that performed at temperatures up to 220°Celcius.” From this realisation, the KEVIN.MURPHY
PROTECTION.LINE was born.

Murphy drew inspiration for the line from native Australian desert plants, rich in anti-oxidants,
allowing them to flourish in harsh, dry environmental conditions. One of these plants is the Kakadu
Plum, used in LEAVE-IN.PROTECTION. Containing 60 times more vitamin C that any other plant on
the plant, the Kakadu Plum works to stimulate the production of Elastin and Collagen to help
maintain the hair’s shine and elasticity.

Not only does the KEVIN.MURPHY X-HP COMPLEX contain the anti-oxidants, amino acids and
essential oils imperative for the repair of damaged hair, the products also work to reduce friction

An innovative heat shielding leave-in conditioner, allowing the hair to properly
receive the benefits of the KEVIN.MURPHY X-HP COMPLEX when used with other
PROTECTION.LINE products. LEAVE-IN.PROTECTION can be left in or rinsed out and
has been formulated to improve the hair’s elasticity, flexibility and create longlasting

protection against heated appliances. The weightless spray has been formulated to

DAMAGE.MANAGER can be sprayed onto dry hair and can be used in conjunction

FULL-ON.PROTECTION – RRP $34.95
Perfect for creating instant and long lasting texture, FULL-ON.PROTECTION is nonsticky,
heat protecting texture spray offering strong styling hold. The formula contains
aloe vera, commonly referred to as the ‘Miracle Plant’, which works to soothe and
heal the hair while conditioning. FULL-ON.PROTECTION can be sprayed on wet hair
